Cornerstone

I am the light that is above them all.
I am the All.
The All comes forth from me, and the All reaches towards me.
Cleave the wood, I am there;
lift up the stone,
and you shall find me there.

Receive The Sacraments

Just as God's word "became flesh and dwelt among us" in the person of Jesus, so also is God's grace to be found in earthly acts we call "sacraments."  Baptism is one such sacrament recognized by all Christians.  Most of the Catholic traditions, including the Old Catholic Church, recognize seven sacraments in all.

We recognize Sacraments as very holy creations; some instituted by Christ during His public life, and others instituted later by His church. Some are necessary while the necessity of others depends on one's specific calling in life.

Here are the seven sacraments the Church offers. We invite you to contact us with questions and requests.

Baptism

"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit... ."
~ Matthew 28:19

Baptism is the only sacrament that radically changes one's state of life.  It imprints a special seal on the soul. The baptized person has a "hidden" life in Christ and lives for and with the Lord.  Baptism is also the great initiation into Christ's pilgrim church on earth.

Cornerstone Eucharist (Communion)

"For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed. He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him. "
~ John 6:55-56, 58

Our Pastor will bring communion to you if you are in the greater Twin Cities area and are homebound or in a hospital, nursing home, or convalescent home. Just ask!   To request this service, please contact us.

Reconciliation

"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
~ John 1:9

Our Pastor does face-to-face confession only by appointment at this time. Contact our pastor for an appointment. We have communal penance services and general absolution at different times of the year, including Advent and on the Easter Vigil.

Cornerstone Confirmation

""...[Y]ou shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me... to the end of the Earth. "
~ Acts. 1:8

The Church bestows Confirmation when we are ready to grow in spiritual maturity and accept the responsibilities of being a disciple of Jesus. A person seeking Confirmation must be at least 16 years of age and participate in our preparation classes. Our Bishop celebrates and bestows the sacrament of Confirmation every Pentecost Sunday.

Matrimony and Blessed Unions

The purpose of marriage is the spiritual and physical nurturing of the couple. If you are called to the married life with someone --- if you have a profound, mature, and selfless love for that person --- we urge you to be married in a Christian ceremony.

Cornerstone Holy Orders

"...[I]f He calls you, that you must say,  'Speak, Lord, for Your servant hears.' "
~ Samuel 3:9

All of us have a vocation from God. If you believe yours is to serve Him and His Church in Holy Orders, contact our Bishop to begin exploring your vocation.

Anointing of the Sick

"So they went out ... and anointed with oil many who were sick, and healed them."
~ Mark 6:13

The Sacrament of Anointing benefits the body and soul. If you are physically or mentally ill, disabled, or undergoing treatment or surgery, contact our Pastor to receive God's grace through this sacrament.

If your family has need of a funeral, please notify our Pastor as soon as possible. Father Bob will schedule an appointment with you to arrange the funeral rite.        The typical Christian Burial rite includes: a Vigil Service (typically conducted at the funeral home), Holy Mass, and interment with a final blessing at the cemetery.   Our Pastor will assist you in planning the liturgy, including music and scripture readings.

If you need counseling or simply need someone to listen... Please contact our Pastor. You can request an in-person meeting or speak with him by phone.
